Microsoft Azure Development Service
Senior engineers deploying production apps on Azure with Bicep/Terraform, App Service, Functions, Cosmos DB, and proper IAM.
Azure Is Different — Treat It That Way
Azure is the right cloud for organisations already in the Microsoft ecosystem: Entra ID (formerly AD), Office 365, Power Platform, Dynamics. The cross-product integrations are real — Single Sign-On with corporate Entra ID, Logic Apps that orchestrate Office and Dynamics, Power BI fed by Azure SQL or Synapse. For Microsoft-centric customers, Azure is the path of least resistance.
The platform itself is sprawling. App Service vs Functions vs Container Apps vs AKS — picking right matters. Cosmos DB has four different consistency models. Storage Account types are non-obvious. The Azure Resource Manager and Bicep are powerful but verbose. Junior teams pick wrong and pay for it through year-long contracts.
Networking in Azure is its own discipline. Virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, application gateways, Front Door, Private Endpoints. The defaults are often too permissive. Private networking between services is the default in mature cloud architectures and the exception in greenfield Azure setups. We tighten this from the start.
Cost in Azure is harder to optimise than AWS because the pricing dimensions are less consistent across services. Reserved Instances vs Savings Plans. Hybrid Use Benefits for licensed workloads. App Service tiers that change pricing model entirely. Without proactive monitoring and tag-based attribution, bills creep up quietly.
AsyncForge has senior Azure engineers shipping production infrastructure. Submit Bicep/Terraform work, App Service deploys, Functions, Entra ID integrations, or full Azure builds. Light 4 days, Standard 48 hours, Pro 1 day.
What You Get
Bicep / Terraform
Infrastructure-as-code with Bicep (native) or Terraform (multi-cloud). PR review, plan + apply via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
App Service / Container Apps
App Service for traditional web apps. Container Apps for serverless containers. AKS only when Kubernetes is justified.
Cosmos DB
Cosmos with appropriate consistency model, partition key design, and indexing policy. Avoiding the cost traps.
Entra ID integration
SSO via Entra ID, API permissions, group-based access, conditional access policies.
Private networking
Private Endpoints for storage and databases, NSGs locked down, Bastion for jump access.
Cost monitoring
Cost alerts, tag enforcement, Reserved Instance / Savings Plan analysis.
